Within Britain, we all love one classic fish dish… Fish and Chips!
The popular choice of eating Cod as part of the meal is somewhat considered to have had some impact on stocks of the fish, yet are passion of serving the fish dish is still thriving.  
- There are around 11,000 Fish and Chip Shops around the UK and Ireland.
- 61.5% of fish consumed within the UK is Cod.

Hugh’s Fish Fight
Celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall began a campaign to change the laws, regulations, and policies towards fisheries and fishing, after he describes the ‘mad’ EU laws at current in relation to the allowing of wasted fish in extremely low fish stocks, and that can be caused to the environment.
A key fact that he wanted to present was that ‘HALF OF ALL FISH CAUGHT IN THE NORTH SEA ARE THROWN BACK… DEAD.’ - A powerful phrase that may work well in my animation (linked to UK Fishing Statistics)
Shown on Channel 4 in early 2011, Hugh promoted his campaign by showing the current effects on fish stocks, within interviews from experts, and from celebrities (who have signed up to the petition, for which the general public can sign up to).

A key to this project is to obviously compile and collect a range of facts and statistics for which can be considered and used within my animation. However, exploring the theme of fish and sustainability in general, there are so many areas and themes which I could choose to follow as a concept. From this, below is shown a collection of major websites relating directly to the sustainable fishing topic that I have explored to collate data for which could be used.

- Debate Your Plate (An article that provides an overview of the issue, with recommendations and further links)

- Fish Online (A key website providing and in-depth analysis of sustainable fish/seafood)

- Good Catch (Updating the campaigning and promotion of sustainable fishing- collaboration with the Marine Conservation Society)
